El cartel promueve el sistema de la Autoridad Metropolitana de Transportación de Nueva York, y una de sus rutas en el metro: Harlem. En el diseño se representa el rico espíritu de Harlem. La parte superior presenta diversas fotografías antiguas. Sobre ellas se observan dibujos de espirales de colores. La parte central incluye el siguiente texto en letras blancas sobre fondo negro: “My mother was one of the men and women that came from Puerto Rico to New York to live with her brother. She had her picture taken in the roof of a tenement building in Harlem. Mami deep rooted her culture, her ground and her being here. Harlem, Brownsville, Bushwick and the Bronx became her Puerto Rico and her Africa. The people, food, language and culture are where I and my two brothers came from. The rest is history. I miss her dearly, but whenever I go through these old neighborhoods / Barrios I feel the love, price and a wonderful sense of belonging. The joy and history my mother ingrained in me is what makes the Puerto Rican/African diaspora one of New York's most interesting and fascinating qualities. ¡Que viva la gente!”
